Boys Cricket

Wairarapa College fields a 1^st XI that participates in the Wairarapa Cricket Association’s Senior cricket competition

The team also has special fixtures against:

• Rathkeale College for the McBride-Peterson Cup (2 day game)
• Hutt Valley High School (Inter-school exchange in March each year on a home and away basis)
• The Gillette Cup competition.

The 2^nd XI and the Colts XI play in the Wairarapa Cricket Association’s Open grade. A combined team play’s in the Hutt Valley High School exchange against their 2^nd XI.

The fee for playing at these levels is:

• 1^st XI cricketers - $130
• 2^nd XI and Colts - $80

Trials are held before the start of the new cricket season in early October for entry into the 1^st XI, 2^nd XI, and the Colts team. The Master in charge of Cricket then selects these teams.

Junior cricketers sign up for Saturday morning cricket in early February and are sorted into teams for the year. In 2010 their will be three teams designated 5A, 5B and 5C. These teams will be competing against the other Wairarapa schools.

We are currently in desperate need of more coaches and/or managers. Please contact the college if you can contribute in this area.

Girls Cricket

The following are the teams available at Wairarapa College.

1st XI play on a Thursday afternoon

Girls Midweek cricket is on Wednesdays for Term 1

Girls Indoor Cricket is played in Term 4 on Wednesdays

Practice for all teams is on Mondays at 3.20pm at the college nets

There is a cost of $20.00 to register as a player for a season
